      And probably my favorite example is the King of The Hill episode with a gnome.The summary follows:

"Yard She Blows" 

Peggy buys a gnome for the garden, and Hank is embarrassed by it. Bobby accidentally shoots off the gnome’s ear, so Hank decides to throw the gnome away. Peggy learns what happened and is very upset. Hank and Bobby find another gnome for Peggy who decides to keep it in the house to prevent theft.
